Karen was an amazing asset as an instructor to this course. Her weekly involvement kept the motivation going. Her desire to see us learn and grow as individuals to enhance the health care system was refreshing from some other courses I have taken. Her feedback to acknowledge we were on the right track was also refreshing as students we often wonder if we are for sure on the right track.

I will remember how the support, understanding, and encouragement from my instructor positively impacted my learning. Karen Cook created a positive learning environment for me. Despite the challenges I faced, knowing that I had a supportive network made this journey a very positive one. I can honestly say that I have not encountered a more supportive instructor than Karen Cook. Her ability to boost my confidence and support my learning is something that I will never forget. It is my hope that I can also exemplify a similar teaching style in my instruction.

Of all the course I have completed so far, I would say my experience with Karen as the Instructor has been the most positive. She genuinely cared about her students and wanted them to succeed in the course. Karen did a great and positive job of influencing the learning environment in a fundamental way: Her support and elaboration on discussions promoted constant learning, and she would sometimes even email afterwards to tell me a post was good. I have never had a prof do this before! To have her email me meant she actually read it, that she appreciated what I had to say, and made me want to be more involved in every discussion. Sometimes, even as adult learners, we need that sort of validation.

Karen was excellent. She encouraged and sympathized with us while communicating clearly about the course content based both on course instruction and her own experience. She had a very pragmatic view of the course overall and frequently encouraged us to apply our weekly forum discussions to our own research, rather than to just regurgitate the information we were reading. She was really quite awesome and the best instructor I've ever had.

Karen was an excellent instructor who navigated the course well and provided great feedback and guidance throughout. Karen was fantastic and she offered thoughtful, constructive and timely feedback. Karen went above and beyond in offering opportunity to engage with her about questions and course feedback. Very nice to have a faculty member teaching who was so engaged.

The instructor was hugely positive for the online course environment. She was so engaged and encouraging. She even opened up zoom sessions to everyone so students could approach her informally with questions about assignments. Her efforts made the learning experience so much more manageable and enjoyable. Thank you Karen!

Our instructor was the significant reason why I enjoyed this course so much. I feel I got to learn through trial and error and that being open and flexible in this process helped me to feel I was actually embracing what I was learning and not just memorizing. the weekly videos were very personable, and the encouragement she gave us when she knew we were approaching subjects or assignments that were tedious, she let us know that this was normal and to explore these thoughts to help us develop into researchers.
